Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a representative from Amalinda Lodge and begin your journey into the wild beauty of Matobo National Park.

The scenic transfer takes you through landscapes dotted with giant granite boulders and ancient kopjes, setting the tone for the days ahead. Nestled in a private concession within this UNESCO World Heritage area, Amalinda Lodge is a tranquil sanctuary surrounded by dramatic rock formations, history, and wildlife.

After settling into your beautifully designed suite, unwind with a gentle, grounding yoga session as the golden African sun dips below the horizon. The stillness of the Matobo Hills offers the perfect backdrop for reconnecting with yourself and your surroundings.

As night falls, gather for a nourishing dinner under the stars. Let the sounds of nature soothe you into a slower rhythm—your journey into the wild and soulful side of Zimbabwe has just begun.

    Day 2 & 3 – Wild Encounters, Ancient Stories & Soulful Stillness

28 & 29 October: Over the next two days, you’ll be immersed in the magic of Matobo Hills—where raw nature, deep cultural roots, and quiet luxury come together in unforgettable ways.

Wake each morning to the sounds of birdsong and begin your day with a rejuvenating yoga session—either out in the wild under expansive African skies or in the tranquil setting of the lodge. Then, set off on foot for one of the most thrilling safari experiences: tracking endangered rhino in the wild. Guided by expert rangers, this rare encounter allows you to observe these majestic animals from a respectful distance while learning about conservation efforts and animal tracking techniques.

Hike through the dramatic granite hills to discover ancient San cave paintings, some of the most significant rock art sites in southern Africa, offering a glimpse into the spiritual world of the earliest inhabitants.

For a unique cultural experience, cycle through a local village on the My Beautiful Home bike ride, where you’ll witness the vibrant murals and artistry of the local community—a celebration of color, creativity, and empowerment.

In between adventures, unwind with à la carte spa treatments—from relaxing massages to nourishing facials and mani-pedis. And each evening, gather again for yoga, gentle stretching, or meditation to close the day.

    Your Home Base: Amalinda Lodge

Nestled in the granite outcrops of Matobo National Park, Amalinda Lodge is more than just a place to stay—it’s a retreat for the senses. With its natural stone architecture, open-air lounges, and candlelit dinners, the lodge is a luxurious sanctuary deeply connected to the landscape. Whether soaking in the pool with views over the hills, sipping a sundowner at the cliff-edge bar, or falling asleep to the sounds of the bush, this is where nature and indulgence meet in perfect harmony.

These two days promise both soulful connection and unforgettable adventure—experiences that will stay with you long after you leave.

  • Day 4: Into the Wild – Arrival at Sable Valley Lodge

30 October: After a nourishing breakfast, we journey deeper into Zimbabwe’s wild heart, heading toward the Hwange region, home to one of Africa’s most diverse ecosystems. Our destination is the tranquil and beautifully remote Sable Valley Lodge—a hidden gem nestled near the northern edge of Hwange National Park.

As we arrive and settle into our elegant chalets, the sense of space and stillness is immediate. Sable Valley is a place where time slows down and nature takes center stage. Watch elephants roam to the nearby waterhole, listen to the distant call of lions, and feel the rhythm of the bush begin to align with your breath.

In the golden light of late afternoon, we'll gather for a sunset yoga session, surrounded by vast skies and the sounds of the African wilderness. Afterward, enjoy a wholesome, chef-prepared dinner under the stars—delicious and nourishing in every way.

    Days 5, 6 & 7: Yoga, Wildlife & Deep Connection

31 October, 1 & 2 November: Wake each day to the chorus of birds and begin with morning yoga, designed to energize your body and ground your spirit before heading out on the day’s safari adventure.

Twice-daily game drives will take you into the heart of Hwange—Zimbabwe’s largest national park and home to more than 100 mammal species, including large herds of elephants, elusive big cats, buffalo, and countless bird species. Each drive offers a chance to witness the raw beauty of nature and the unpredictable magic of the bush.

One of the highlights: a guided walking safari, where you’ll step quietly into the wilderness alongside an expert ranger. Learn how to read the signs of the wild—tracks, calls, scent—and feel the awe of sharing the landscape with elephants, antelope, and other wildlife on foot.

In between, enjoy free time to rest, journal, swim, or simply sit and watch animals come to drink at the lodge’s waterhole.

    Your Sanctuary: Sable Valley Lodge

Eco-luxury at its finest, Sable Valley blends sustainability with style. Its thoughtfully designed chalets offer comfort and privacy while keeping you connected to nature. Solar-powered and ethically run, the lodge’s ethos of conservation and community makes it a perfect fit for our mindful journey.

Evenings are reserved for restorative yoga, soulful conversations, and stargazing by the fire. As the bush quiets, you’ll drift to sleep with the sounds of the wild just outside your door.

  • 3 November: Return to Victoria Falls – Farewell, or a New Adventure

After a final morning yoga session and a nourishing breakfast in the stillness of the bush, we begin our journey back to Victoria Falls, carrying with us the serenity, connection, and unforgettable moments of the past week.

While your retreat may be coming to a close, your adventure doesn’t have to end here. We highly recommend adding an extra night in Victoria Falls, especially as most international flights depart around midday. This extra time allows you to unwind, explore the vibrant town, or simply reflect on your journey.

Alternatively, extend your adventure with our optional 4-night package, combining the breathtaking wonder of Victoria Falls with the iconic wildlife of Chobe National Park in Botswana. Experience game drives along the river, boat safaris, and sunset views over the Zambezi—an unforgettable way to end your African escape.
